We are pleased to welcome Jordan Carr, Senior Liaison Officer with the Canada Revenue Agency, for an informative and highly practical session designed to help bookkeepers strengthen their compliance knowledge and confidently support their clients.
Jordan will walk us through key areas of CRA expectations, including:
- GST/HST filing requirements and common errors
- Source deductions and payroll reporting obligations
- Document retention rules and what businesses must keep, for how long, and in what format

Speaker: Jordan Carr - Senior Liaison Officer, Canada Revenue Agency
Jordan Carr is a Senior Liaison Officer with Canada Revenue Agency. Jordan graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting Major in 2020. Jordan bridged into the CRA as a co-op student and began working as an auditor before joining the Liaison Officer program in 2021. Jordan was promoted to his current role in 2022 and became responsible for the Liaison Officer program’s outreach to the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, in addition to sharing responsibility for outreach to Northern BC. To ensure he stays up to date, each year Jordan receives specialized training from the CRA on current tax obligations or issues. Jordan can answer tax-related questions for small businesses and self-employed individuals as well as explain revenues and expenses for tax purposes, GST/HST, Payroll, best bookkeeping practices, common errors to avoid and what kind of tools or services are out there to assist small business owners and self-employed individuals. Jordan lives on Vancouver Island with his fiancé and a cat that likes to intrude on videoconference calls.
