This presentation explores the critical role of regular, good-quality sleep in maintaining overall health and well-being. It highlights how sleep strengthens the immune system, reducing susceptibility to infections and chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.

Special emphasis is placed on the profound impact of sleep on brain and cognitive health, including memory, decision-making, and emotional regulation. We’ll also look at how chronic poor-quality sleep contributes to memory and cognitive decline and increases the likelihood of developing dementia.

The presentation further examines how sleep quality directly affects workplace performance and productivity. By understanding the science of sleep and its wide-reaching effects, you will gain practical insight into how prioritizing rest can improve both personal health and professional effectiveness.

  • CPB Canada announcements, and attendee introductions 6:45 pm

Speaker: Karen Feldcher

Karen is a co-founder of a successful Calgary financial services firm, where she spent over 25 years in administration, client services, and insurance brokering. Over time, she noticed how lifestyle and health issues directly impacted her clients’ ability to qualify for insurance, sparking her passion for holistic health.

After experiencing her own recovery through nutrition and lifestyle changes, Karen shifted careers and became a certified health and wellness consultant specializing in genetic nutrition, aging, and integrative sleep coaching. Today, she helps clients address sleep challenges, using personalized strategies that combine nutrition, lifestyle, and stress management to improve overall health and resilience.
