How many bookkeepers really understand what the accountants do with their bookkeeping work?  What happens between bookkeeping, the filing of tax returns, and financial statements?  I think understanding each other’s processes would make both of us more efficient and work towards the same goal.

  • Gathering appropriate and concise documentation
  • Reconciling accounts – bank, retained earnings, credit cards, payroll expense
  • Analyzing accounts – clearing accounts, GST, PST, corporate tax
  • Recording shareholder loan entries
  • Recording capital assets

Presenter: Catherine Jones

Catherine has been working in the accounting industry for almost 35 years.  She started in public practice in a downtown Vancouver accounting firm, which launched a career primarily in taxation, small business, and, more recently, Trusts and Estates. She has been interacting with bookkeepers and business owners every step of the way and has a broad depth of experience to share.
