Get To Know Us - Staff Spotlight
We hope you have enjoyed getting to know the CPB Canada team more, our last Staff Spotlight is Riann Kempt. You may have met Riann at the Ignite 2019 Conference or if you hold a spot on our commmitees.
“I am coming up on two years with CPB Canada! I come from Export Development Canada in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and Décor/Planning within the event industry. I was also simultaneously immersed in a variety of philanthropic organizations/associations where my focus was within Marketing/Communications and Event Planning.
In my spare time, I enjoy being out in nature and visiting beaches which is why I recently moved from Ontario to British Columbia (Hello West Coasters!) I am very big on creativity so I love to spend my time doing photography, dancing, painting/sketching, and fitness classes.
Some fun facts about myself are;
- I danced for 10 years modern jazz, acro, ballet and more!
- Last year I found a new passion of mine within public speaking (never in a million years, would I have thought I would say that!) When speaking in front of 500 people for the Kalesicpe of Hope Annual Gala in Ottawa, ON to advocate for youth mental health I truly learned the importance of story telling and that using my voice to help others was something very close to my heart.
- Since I was 14 I have wanted to be a serial entrepreneur and I am currently working on building two businesses one in web design/brand consulting and the other in the health and wellness industry.
I am the Administrative & Marketing Coordinator with CPB Canada so most of the member communications, website updates, and social media materials I have the pleasure of creating and publishing! I also assist the CEO and Board of Directors with scheduling meetings, recording minutes, and other tasks to support the committees. What do I love most about my position? Firstly, because of my love for business and entrepreneurship that I mentioned above I am truly grateful to be a part of an organization that supports its members that have business practices and that our members support other businesses. Also, my passions lie within bringing others together through events like our Ignite 2021 and building the excitement of the initiatives throughout the year for our members through design and communications.
