That's a Wrap for IGNITE 2024

Hello Members and Industry Colleagues,

I want to take a moment to reflect on the past month, which feels like a significant moment for our community's growth. We made significant strides in strengthening our bonds, leadership, and strategic direction through the immense success of our IGNITE Conference in Winnipeg.

This annual event ventured to a new city and province, bringing the industry together. To welcome us, we were honoured to have MLAs Billie Cross and Mintu Sandhu deliver welcoming remarks on behalf of Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew and formal greetings from Mayor Scott Gillingham. 

The IGNITE conference offered a robust educational program that explored various relevant topics. This year, we were delighted to feature multiple keynote speakers, including Shane Feldman and Allan Kehler, one asking us to appreciate the value of connection and the other asking us to reflect and keep talking to each other. In addition, our Principal Sponsor, Zoho, brought in TedX speaker Kari Mirabal from Tulsa to deliver an engaging session on Naked Networking, and Prestige Sponsor Payworks brought in Jane Helbrecht to talk about tapping into your Big Work Energy. These multiple keynote sessions only scratch the surface of an entire educational program throughout the event.

If you missed some of it, the on-demand access will be available soon, along with post-event registration for those who could not attend the first time. 

Our trade show was bustling from start to finish, with numerous great companies connecting with Canada's largest community of bookkeepers. The conversations, ideas, solutions, and learning about what's new made the exhibition experience valuable for all.

Finally, the Red to the Black Gala and Awards Night, sponsored by different groups (i.e. WagePoint, Sage, Intuit QuickBooks), was a smashing success. From touching moments with award winners to dancing all night and raising funds through a Manitoba Social – this evening was an extraordinary celebration where our community brought its best forward. 

Looking ahead, I can't say how we will top this next year in Calgary except to say that...we will!
