Chair Update - Board of Director's Meeting

Share on:

Hello Colleagues,

I am pleased to send this video update from the Board of Directors.

Last week, the Board met for its second quarterly meeting of this term, and we discussed various issues. As always, the Board is working with the CEO and the staff team to ensure that we focus on our strategic plan and continue to advance the goals and aspirations of our association and all of you, its members.

At the last meeting, the Board received a series of information reports that spoke to the following:

1. A fulsome update from the CEO covered a range of issues like planning for the development of our next strategic plan, a strategy for selecting IGNITE Conference destinations and venues for 2026-2030, an update on IGNITE planning for this year in Winnipeg – registrations will open next month. Finally, we were notified that a second State of the Membership Survey can be expected this summer.

In addition to these updates, the Board received formal reports on the following:

  • Q2 Financials – another strong year projected for the association.
  • Standing Membership Report – reports growth with us now over 2200 members.
  • The Annual CPB Canada Investment Report
  • A debrief on the success of National Bookkeeping Week
  • We received a strategy for how CPB Canada will utilize the recent PwC Research Report launched during National Bookkeeping Week.
  • I was pleased the Board learned more about the new CPB Canada Mentorship Program launching later this Spring.
  • An update was given on a recent Request for Proposal from CPB Canada as we seek out a new Association Database and Website.
  • And finally, the Board received its quarterly strategic initiatives report.

The Board will meet again in May to approve the 2024-25 operating budget and a series of other ongoing strategic priorities.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our community, and I wish you the best over this busy season ahead. Please remember to take care of yourself.

Sincerely,

Lynne Moore, CPB
Chair – CPB Canada Board of Directors
