Share on:

CPB Canada's CEO has been actively meeting with government officials across Canada to raise the profile and presence of bookkeeping in Canada. In doing so, CPB Canada is bringing awareness to the issues that matter most to our members and the industry.

Over the past six weeks, CPB Canada has met with the following government agencies:

Federal Government

  • Associate Minister of Finance and Tourism staff
  • Assistant Deputy Minister – Finance Canada, Tax Policy Branch

Province of British Columbia

  • Minister of Finance staff
  • Comptroller General, BC

Province of Ontario

  • Minister of Finance staff
  • Deputy Minister's Office
  • Financial Services Regulatory Authority (in 2022)

Province of Alberta

  • Director, Treasury Board and Ministry of Finance staff
  • Department for Professional Governance & Standards

There is significant education CPB Canada provides government leaders on the importance of bookkeeping standards and their impact on small businesses in Canada. In addition, discussing our membership's role in raising standards and articulating the broader economic footprint is an influential factor for consideration by public policy leaders.

CPB Canada is the voice representing bookkeepers in Canada. With that responsibility, we will remain active and engaged with governments across Canada.

NEW: Later this month, CPB Canada is targeting a policy submission on the Federal Government's Anti-Money Laundering /Anti Terrorist Finance Consultation. Stay tuned for more details over the weeks ahead.

Finally, if you have public policy or concerns with existing government legislation, please use the following form to submit them to CPB Canada as we continue to form our legislative agenda moving forward.
