CEO Update - January 2023

Share on:

The new year is off to a flying start.

As we brace for winter, this year has brought warmth to our CPB Canada community. Notably, over the past couple of weeks, we were thrilled to launch the inaugural National Bookkeeping Week in Canada.

With credit to our members and staff (special acknowledgement of Sao Tith), we built a digital home (bookkeepingweek.ca) and created daily video content to celebrate, educate, and promote the profession of bookkeeping over an entire week. The level of engagement was inspiring.

This year will serve as the starting point for more to come in the future. As we begin planning efforts for 2024, every bookkeeper in Canada should be excited to bring greater awareness of the value and professionalism our community holds. If you have ideas, we are open to hearing them!

On January 17th, I was also pleased to attend my first regional networking event just north of Toronto. The evening was an excellent time to meet and network with many members and non-members. I find these events energizing and am pleased to see them occurring across the country in different regions.

In closing, we were also very excited to see the great interest in our Tax Tune-Up Seminars as they sell out across the country. Equally, our first Webinar Wednesday saw over 230 registered, an extraordinary level of interest. We hope to continue providing this high value for our members and industry.
