CEO Update - October 3, 2022

Our association hosted many members and industry professionals two weeks ago at our 2022 IGNITE Annual Conference in Calgary, Alberta.  

In a word, the event itself was "uplifting." It may sound cliche, but to connect with people for the first time in person was a special treat for me (and, I know, for many others). 

Ultimately, I am proud of our efforts, including those of my mighty staff team. I have one of the best teams in the business - without a doubt. We were assisted by the great work of CanPlan Inc. and the A/V techs from Encore. 

Between us all, we planned and delivered a hybrid conference with nearly 300 in-person attendees, along with 170 watching virtually in real-time sessions from coast to coast. Throw in another 100 from various industry sponsors/exhibitors, and it represents our most significant IGNITE footprint ever! 

In reflecting on the past couple of weeks and sifting through our post-conference survey results (overwhelmingly positive and constructive), I am even more excited and determined to build on the connections, conversations, and opportunities that arose from being back together. The IGNITE 2022 Conference will provide a robust platform for what I know will be an exciting year ahead. 

I thank all the sponsors, partners, exhibitors, attendees, and volunteers. Without you, the event would not have felt so unique and inspired many to reconnect in familiar ways.  

Finally, I need to acknowledge the CPB Canada Board of Directors for their unwavering unity, collegial outlook, and general warmth and engagement throughout the Conference.   

We look forward to getting post-conference content for everyone in the coming weeks.  Equally, for those who missed out, there will also be an opportunity to register for post-event access!  There is so much great learning available at your fingertips!  

Now, let's get planning for IGNITE 2023 next September in Toronto!
