Job Description

As our Junior Accountant, you will · Accurately code and enter vendor invoices using Quick Books OnLine · Ensure timely processing and payment approvals · Prepare and issue invoices in a timely manner · Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up as necessary · Reconcile payments received with invoices issued · Perform select reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts · Assist with month-end financial processes and documentation · Work with other staff on project budgeting and monitoring · Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment of financial and subscriber databases · Prepare donation receipts · Manage donor database · Collaborate with the finance and administrative team on various tasks · Assist with audit preparation and reporting as needed You are: · Exceptionally well organized and detail oriented · Able to meet deadlines and other obligations · Able to work independently while following established procedures · Positive “can do” attitude · Able to work in our Winnipeg office Desired experience and qualifications: Minimum three years direct accounting experience, not-for-profit experience would be a plus Current and valid Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) or other designation preferred Proficiency in QuickBooks online and Microsoft Excel Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Understanding of financial regulations and reporting requirements for not-for-profit Compensation and Benefits: Hourly rate range: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on qualifications Dental, Extended Health, LTD and Life Insurance benefits are available Employer match RSP plan About Canada’s National History Society Established as a national charitable organization in 1994, we envision a Canada where people are connected through history.
