I have spent over 20 years in various levels of bookkeeping and accounting. I spent most of my time in industry, working in service companies, commercial property management, construction and retail. I worked my way up from invoice clerk to being in charge of AR, AP, inventory, payroll and eventually full cycle bookkeeping as an accounting assistant and then controller for multiple businesses.
I had the opportunity to work with multiple accounting software while working in industry, and have embraced cloud accounting over the last 5 years.
I am working in a national business services firm in Winnipeg, running a team of bookkeepers and helping hundreds of clients with their bookkeeping and process management.
I've always helped other to increase their skills, improve efficiencies and minimize pain points. I want to see others succeed in their jobs and reach their goals.
I am nearing the end of my CPA journey, with only work experience reports to complete. My focus stays in the bookkeeping/day-to-day accounting world, it's where I thrive, and I know the value of strong bookkeeping.
Outside of work, my family consists of my husband, son, daughter, dog and cat. In the summer I spend some time going for rides on my motorcycle and taking in the Manitoba scenery. From September to May, you'll find me either taking dance classes or driving my daughter to and from her classes and watching her dance.
I'm an avid Blue Bomber and Winnipeg Jets fan, either attending the games or watching on TV. I've been on tv more than once during Bomber games.
