BC Langley/Fraser Valley - Regional Network Meeting - New Year, New Focus: Goal-Setting and Premium Positioning for Bookkeeping Firms - In Person

January 6, 2026

5:00 PM - 8:00 PM PST

Info

January is a great time to reset your firm’s focus. In this practical session, we’ll set clear business goals for 2026 and choose one client demographic to prioritize—without excluding other work. You’ll learn a simple framework to turn your existing experience into a compelling positioning promise that attracts the right clients and supports premium pricing. We’ll workshop a short “Who we help / Problems we solve / Results we deliver” statement, map one high-value client journey, and identify the first three actions to align your marketing, delivery, and pricing. I’ll also share the Legacy Profit Directory, a resource I use to highlight firms with proven expertise to CPAs and referral partners looking for bookkeepers with proven industry experience.

Learning Outcomes

By the end, participants will be able to:

  1. Set one measurable quarterly goal tied to revenue, capacity, or lead flow.
  2. Select a target client demographic using 3 evidence tests (proof, demand, access).
  3. Draft a one-sentence positioning statement and a simple premium offer.
  4. Map a “first 30 days” client experience that justifies premium pricing.
  5. Identify 3 next actions (marketing, delivery, pricing) with owners and dates.

Speaker: Matthew Birch

For more than two decades, Matthew Birch has led finance and operations teams and built reporting systems for companies with revenues up to $80 million—giving leaders real-time clarity and the confidence to grow. He also writes for HPAC Magazine, where he translates strategy and finance into practical guidance for trades and service businesses.
Today, Matthew is the founder of Legacy Profit Solutions, which connects business owners with vetted professional bookkeeping firms, CPAs, and fractional CFOs—closing the gap between what small companies need and the expert help they can trust. To make those matches faster and more reliable, he created the Legacy Firm Directory: a curated listing of firms driven from verified client experience that help business owners, CPAs, and referral partners find specialist bookkeeping firms by industry, business size, and region. He calls this type of connection a Forever Bookkeeper.
In this session, he’ll help you use the new year to sharpen your focus, choose a priority client demographic, position your expertise, and design a premium client journey that supports premium pricing—so you can grow with intention.
