Meet Our 2020-2021 Candidate for the Board Of Directors
Jennifer Bauldic, CPB
Jennifer Bauldic provides personalized cash flow coaching and technology-based bookkeeping for small businesses. She focuses on building strong habits which make ‘giving your business a lift’ feel more like fun and less like work. Her mission is to be a strong ally in putting business owners in control of their cash. In addition, Jennifer is actively involved in assisting accounting professionals as they navigate cloud technology and the paperless systems that have become vital tools in the success of today’s firms. Jennifer is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper, Certified Profit First Professional, Certified CashFlowTool Pro, Certified Fix This Next Advisor, a member of the Intuit Trainer Writer Network, a Futurpreneur mentor and was named the 2019 Top International ProAdvisor: Americas by Insightful Accountant.
Currently, she volunteers at the Toronto Humane Society fostering cats with health and/or behavioural challenges and rehabilitates them so that they become healthy, well-adjusted and adoptable. Besides being an incredibly rewarding experience, she is learning a lot about patience, persistence and staying calm and steady when things don't go well.
Education/Professional Designations
Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) and CPFP - Certified Profit First Professional
Specialized expertise relevant to the role of the CPB Canada Director
Specialized expertise? This is a challenging question. I would say that my active involvement in the accounting community and working knowledge of multiple accounting software platforms would be my strongest qualities. I believe in TEAM (together everyone achieves more) - this is not a silly acronym. It means that when a group actively engages in a project or activity, the end result is ALWAYS greater than the result achievable through singular means. I am looking forward to the opportunity to join the CPB Canada Board and to do my part to move the organization forward to the best of my ability.
Up to 4 competencies the candidate felt would benefit the CPB Canada board
As a business coach, it is my responsibility to actively listen and explore the needs of my customers. I believe this will be an important skill to support the board in understanding each other as we discuss the issues and make (sometimes difficult) decisions. I am a mediator at heart which means that it is important that issues are fully explored in a way that creates healthy dialogue and ultimately a unanimous decision or consensus. My previous board experience will be a huge benefit as it provided me with a solid foundation for working in a larger team and the complexities that result. In addition, I am a strong believer of One Board - One Voice meaning that as I am interacting with accounting professionals in my day to day life, I will be supporting the board decisions and helping others understand and support the directives and initiatives the Board undertakes.
Passion is a key driver when it comes to being a CPB Canada leader, ambassador, and effective advocate for the bookkeeping community. Tell us a little bit about your passion for CPB Canada
I began my accounting career without the full university education that would have provided a profoundly different career experience. I embrace the challenges that I have faced taking the "learn as you go" path and feel very connected to those that have also taken the road less recommended. One of the challenges in taking this route is the perception that I lack competency because I don't have a degree. Two of my goals as a member of CPB Canada is: 1) to help others gain the knowledge and experience they need to excel and 2) to educate the business community about the value a Certified Professional Bookkeeper brings and how to select the right candidate to serve their business.
What are your personal dreams or aspirations that could be enhanced by service on our board?
The accounting community has been an incredible support system for me over the years. I feel that by serving on the Board, that I will be able to give some of that back to the community and to provide guidance to those at the early stages of their bookkeeping careers.
