Rod Cox, CPB, FCPB

Rod Cox, CPB, FCPB, Acc.Dir Rod has over 30 years of accounting, financial and general business management experience and has been involved in a wide range of industries including forest products, logging, road maintenance and construction, retail/wholesale and media (radio, television and cablevision). He has served as Vice-President, Finance for a large regional British Columbia media group, responsible for all accounting, information systems and financial reporting including external reporting to shareholders and regulatory bodies. He currently operates CFR Management Inc. providing Controller and consulting services to small and medium-sized businesses and not for profits. He also assists new businesses to get started with the long term in mind. He holds a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation and an Accredited Director (Acc.Dir.) designation. He is a Fellow of CPB Canada. He has served as Treasurer and President of the Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce and Vice-President of the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce. He is a Governor of the BC Chamber of Commerce and a past director of the BC Games Society, the Northern BC Winter Games Society and the United Way of Northern British Columbia. He currently is a director of Northern Savings Credit Union, Terrace & District Chamber of Commerce and Chair of Volunteer Terrace.

Passion is a key driver when it comes to being a CPB Canada leader, ambassador, and effective advocate for the bookkeeping community. Tell us a little bit about your passion for CPB Canada

I believe that bookkeeping should be recognized as a profession and regulated, the same as professional accountants. I believe CPB Canada is the organization to oversee and I want to assist CPB Canada in achieving this. I want to see CPB Canada continue to grow and expand to be recognized across Canada.

What are your personal dreams or aspirations that could be enhanced by service on our board?

I have been involved in and assisted companies and organizations grow and expand, and want see CPB Canada grow and expand.
