Dear CPB Canada Members,
I am writing to provide an important update regarding the state of professional collaboration within the Canadian bookkeeping community and to reaffirm CPB Canada’s unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards for our profession.
At CPB Canada, we recognize the value of fostering relationships with peer organizations to build a unified and credible professional community. Earlier this year, our Board Chair formally reached out to the leadership of the Canadian Bookkeepers Association (CBA) to initiate a dialogue about our respective organizations and the standards we each uphold.
Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts to engage, we have not received a response from CBA. This lack of communication has limited opportunities for collaboration, information sharing, and the establishment of common professional standards that would benefit the bookkeeping sector across Canada.
Based on publicly available information and limited engagement from CBA, it has made it challenging to fully understand their operational and governance practices as a professional association.
At CPB Canada, we firmly believe that a unified professional community, guided by clear and consistent standards, is essential for fostering trust, credibility, and effective advocacy on behalf of bookkeepers. Unity strengthens our collective ability to influence policy, engage with government and stakeholders, and protect the value and integrity of bookkeeping credentials in Canada.
As we move forward, CPB Canada remains steadfast in its role as the recognized authority and standard-setting body for the bookkeeping profession. We are committed to fostering a strong, unified community that upholds the highest standards and advances the interests of bookkeepers across the country.
