What keeps members engaged in a professional association for the long term? According to the latest CPB Canada State of the Membership Survey, the answer starts with satisfaction, but it does not end there.

The most recent findings point to a strong and growing membership base, with rising satisfaction levels and clear appreciation for the value CPB Canada provides. Community, industry connection, and professional development continue to stand out as key reasons members stay involved. The survey also shows that members see real value in training, certification, and belonging to a network that supports their growth.

At the same time, the results highlight important priorities for the future. Members want stronger government representation, and the survey points to a clear opportunity to broaden the association’s reach through greater regional and cultural diversity.

For bookkeepers, accounting professionals, and members alike, these insights offer a useful snapshot and, in the year, ahead, CPB Canada will be undertaking more focused surveys to assess learning needs and help shape our modern bookkeeper efforts. These efforts will also provide opportunities to engage with focus groups to hear directly from members and shape our priorities and key initiatives moving forward.

To catch up on more detailed findings from our last membership survey, read the full feature in last year’s Numbers & Sense magazine.
