The Emerging Leader of the Year Award celebrates an outstanding bookkeeper with 3 years or less of experience who has shown remarkable growth and commitment. It recognizes individuals who embody CPB Canada’s values and demonstrate a strong dedication to excellence early in their careers.

Our 2025 Emerging Leader of the Year

Emily Bettle

Founder, Bettle Bookkeeping

Emily Bettle has always loved helping others, solving problems, and working with numbers, which naturally drew her to bookkeeping. She graduated with honours from NBCC Saint John in 2023 with a Diploma in Business Administration: Accounting. During her internship at On the Plus Side Bookkeeping Ltd., she quickly became known for her strong work ethic, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.

While working part-time, Emily continued her education at UNBSJ and volunteered extensively in children’s programs in her community. After her mentor’s retirement in 2024, she launched her own practice, Bettle Bookkeeping, while completing her degree. In 2025, she graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Applied Management in Accounting and began pursuing her CPB designation.

Emily was chosen for the Emerging Leader of the Year Award because she embodies CPB Canada’s values and demonstrates remarkable growth early in her career. She completed her QBO certification within her first week, later achieving Gold ProAdvisor status and becoming proficient with CRA processes, DEXT, and client communication. Her quiet leadership, professionalism, and dedication to excellence have made a lasting impact on clients, colleagues, and her community.

Emily represents the future of the bookkeeping profession and is already making a meaningful difference.
