As many of you know, CPB Canada officially acquired all assets of the Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping (CIB) in 2022. Since then, CIB membership has been fully integrated into CPB Canada, uniting our profession under one banner. The original CIB no longer operates as an independent entity.
We have recently discovered an unauthorized website [www.cibcb.com] fraudulently using the CIB name and branding. This site deliberately mimics the original organization to deceive users. Please treat this website as a phishing scam: it is unauthorized, fraudulent, and potentially dangerous.
We take this malicious misrepresentation extremely seriously. CPB Canada is actively working to have the fraudulent website removed and has formally reported it to the relevant authorities on several occasions as a scam.
As is good practice, please continue to protect your personal and professional information by avoiding this site completely. For any information regarding legacy CIB certifications or memberships, please rely exclusively on CPB Canada communication channels.
