Terms and Conditions for Event Registration

  1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for this event, you agree to follow these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with your registration.

  1. Registration and Payment
  • Your registration is only confirmed once full payment, if applicable, has been received.
  • All fees are non-refundable unless indicated in the cancellation policy.
  1. Cancellation and Refund Policy
  • To be eligible for a refund, if applicable, a cancellation request must be submitted in writing at least seven (7) business days prior to the event to events@cpbcan.ca.
    • A refund processing and administration fee of $25, plus applicable taxes, will be deducted from any refund, if applicable. All other terms of the CPB Canada Refund Policy will apply.
  • Cancellation requests received within seven (7) business days of the event are not eligible for a refund.
  1. Event Changes

CPB Canada reserves the right to modify the event schedule, speakers, or platform if unforeseen circumstances occur. Notice will be provided by email or through the event website.

  1. Code of Conduct

Participants must conduct themselves respectfully towards speakers, organizers, and other attendees. Harassment or disruptive behaviour could result in removal from the event without a refund.

  1. Privacy and Data Usage

By registering, you agree to the collection and use of your personal data for event management and communication, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

  1. Media Release Consent

By participating in this event, you give CPB Canada permission to use your name, likeness, voice, and any photos or videos taken during the event for promotional, marketing, and educational purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, social media posts, website content, and future event materials. If you do not agree, please notify events@cpbcan.ca in writing before the event.

  1. Intellectual Property

All event materials, including recordings, slides, and content, are the property of CPB Canada or the respective speaker. Unauthorized sharing or copying is prohibited.

  1. Release of Liability

I hereby release, waive, and discharge CPB Canada and its officers, employees, agents, sponsors, speakers, and volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action that may arise from or relate to any loss, damage, or injury—whether physical, technological, or reputational—that I or my property may suffer due to participating in this event.

Additional Terms for In-Person Attendance

  1. Health and Safety Requirements
  • Attendees must adhere to all health and safety protocols at the venue, including any requirements mandated by the government (such as mask-wearing, proof of vaccination, or health screening).
  • If you feel unwell or display symptoms of illness, you agree not to attend the event in person.
  1. Assumption of Risk
  • By attending in person, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks linked to group gatherings, including possible exposure to contagious illnesses. You agree that CPB Canada is not responsible for any health-related issues that may occur as a result of your attendance.
  1. Venue Rules & Access
  • Attendees must follow all venue rules and follow instructions from event staff. Failure to do so may lead to removal without a refund.
  • CPB Canada reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any participant who poses a safety risk or causes disruption at the event.
  1. Personal Belongings
  • CPB Canada is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings during the event.
  1. Emergency Situations
  • In an emergency (medical, fire, evacuation), attendees must follow instructions from venue staff and emergency personnel.
  • In case of an emergency, I authorize CPB Canada to arrange necessary medical care and treatment for my health and safety. I agree to cover all costs related to medical treatment and transportation. 
  1. Alcohol and Substance Policy
  • If alcohol is served, attendees must drink responsibly and adhere to local laws. Strictly no illegal substances are permitted.
  1. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

Refund Policy

On certain occasions, registered individuals may not be able to attend a given event or planned exam for which they have registered, or that CPB Canada has had to postpone or cancel due to unforeseen issues such as low registration, inclement weather, etc

This policy addresses how to manage refunds for individuals in such cases.

1. General Parameters for Refunds
If a refund is warranted, subject to the conditions set out in Section 2, the refund request will be processed as follows:

Same day refund available if exams have not been accessed.

2. Conditions Applicable to Refunds
  1. All cancellation requests must be in writing.
  2. A refund will be issued only if the written request is received seven (7) business days before the holding of the event.
  3. A refund processing/administration fee of $25 will be deducted from each refund request except for those events cancelled or postponed by CPB Canada.
  4. Any refund will be issued to the person/organization that initially paid the fee to CPB Canada.
  5. If the payment was made using a credit card, the refund would be issued to the same credit card. If the payment is made by cheque, the refund will be made to the originating bank account by electronic funds transfer or / by cheque.
  6. If there are any materials, they will need to be returned in the same condition as initially offered. Marked and damaged material will not be eligible for a refund. The person requesting the refund will bear the cost of returning the materials to CPB Canada.
  7. Members who have an amount owing on their account and other outstanding dues/fines with CPB Canada will have such outstanding amounts deducted from their refund. Should there be any question regarding such amounts, this may be discussed with CPB Canada staff.
  8. Requests for refunds will be processed as soon as possible and should normally be issued within three weeks of receiving a request.
