Board of Directors - Colleen Hoggarth

Meet Our 2019-2020 Board Of Directors

Colleen Hoggarth, CPB, FCPB - Chair/Director

Colleen has been in the bookkeeping industry for over 25 years, working in both public accounting and industry. In 2012, she purchased a bookkeeping business, Security House Accounting, located in Victoria, BC, which offers a full range of bookkeeping and tax services for small to medium businesses. Soon after, she joined CPB Canada and earned her Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation. In 2016 she was awarded CPB Canada’s prestigious Fellowship Award.

Being heavily involved in her company has allowed Colleen to continuously gain experience and knowledge within the bookkeeping industry. One of her key motivators is “to be a mentor to those who wish to achieve their CPB designation”. Security House Accounting has now grown to include twelve team members - three of whom are CPB’s.

“I’m excited to lead CPB Canada’s Board of Directors and continue to see CPB Canada recognized as the leading professional and career development organization for bookkeepers in Canada,” says Colleen. “The Board is committed to strengthening the bookkeeping profession to ensure CPBs continue to be accepted as trusted partners in business and viewed as skilled professionals in the accounting industry.”

“Colleen has volunteered with several CPB Canada committees, including accreditation and compliance, governance, and ethics, and has most recently held the position of Vice-Chair on CPB Canada’s Board of Directors,” says CPB Canada CEO Valoree McKay. “As a committed volunteer with the organization, she has been instrumental in bringing CPB Canada into the future, positioning us as the leading bookkeeping association in Canada and a national certifying body for bookkeeping professionals.”
